Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer

(1723-1790)


Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer was born in 1723 in Maryland.

Not much is known about his early years.

As an adult, he owned a large estate near Annapolis.

He supported the Revolution, serving in the Continental Congress and the Maryland state legislature.

Jenifer favored a stronger national government.

Although he did not speak often at the Philadelphia Convention, he generally supported the positions of James Madison.

Jenifer died only three years after the convention.
