Summary Survey ResultsStudents responsible for this section of the display will use the student worksheets found on page 32 to develop a one- to two-page summary of the policy the group has chosen to support. The students may choose to support one of the alternative policies presented on Panel 2, modify or combine elements of the alternative policies presented, or develop a policy proposal of their own. Be sure all questions on the student worksheet are addressed in the written summary.
Survey Results News ArticlesInformation from the questionnaire/survey can be included in the summary or in graphs to document community support for the policy proposal presented.
News Articles Constitutional Opinion FormNews articles relevant to the policy should be included on this panel.
Constitutional Opinion Form PhotographsOnce the students select the policy they want to propose, they must determine whether their policy is in violation of both the state and U.S. Constitution. Students may interview a city, county, or school board attorney to identify the issues in question. A team of students should complete the Constitutional Opinion Form found in the student text on pp 44-45. This form should be included in the binder. A written summary of the policy's constitutionality could be included on this panel.
Photographs Printed MaterialAll photos on this panel must be related to the public policy proposal your class has developed. These may include photographs of groups affected by the policy, the level of government responsible for implementing the proposed policy, etc. Remember to include captions or titles for all photographs.
Printed Material Letters of SupportA government publication that supports information mentioned in the summary or in the statement of constitutionality would be appropriate for inclusion on this panel. Remember to highlight the pertinent information.
Letters of Support Bibliography or List of SourcesLetters of support or opposition from community members, interest groups, and government officials could be placed on this panel.

All sources of information used for this section of the project should be cited in a formal bibliography or an informal list of sources. |
